Browser Extension Data

The SmartRecap browser extension stores limited data locally in your browser, such as your login session, selected language preference, and current summary status. This helps the extension keep you logged in, remember your settings, and display the correct summary state when you reopen the popup or return to a YouTube video.

The extension only runs on YouTube pages and communicates with the SmartRecap API to provide summarization, follow-up questions, login, and account-related functionality. It does not request access to unrelated websites.

Third-Party Services

SmartRecap may use third-party services for functionality such as reCAPTCHA protection, payments, hosting, analytics, and infrastructure. These providers process information only as needed to support the service.
